Two Key Symposia Introduced by Gloyd Group at NAVC 2010

Hidden Treasures, a symposium sponsored by Pfizer Animal Health, is being introduced to the veterinary community at NAVC 2010 and will be presented again at WVC 2010. Four topics by expert presenters focus on the positives that are sometimes missed or dismissed in daily practice. Speakers show how to look at the obvious, such as keeping lab work in-house and increased focus on feline patients, for bottom-line benefits in an increasingly tough economy.

Acute Diseases, sponsored by Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health, is making its debut at NAVC 2010 and will also be presented at WVC 2010 as a half-day complement to the ever-popular Chronic Diseases symposium that has packed meeting rooms for years.

Both of these symposia feature Audience Response Technology that enables speakers to tailor their presentations to the interests and knowledge of the attendees in the room. Free proceedings are available and will be released on this website during spring 2010 (register here for notification).

Gloyd Group’s Holiday Card Theme: Denise’s Dog, Chase,
Makes Children Smile at Ronald McDonald House

Chase, a good-natured yellow Lab owned by Denise Pierson, Gloyd Group Meetings Specialist, was featured on the 2009 corporate holiday card along with Joshua Smith, a patient at Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware. After Chase completed training with Therapy Dogs International 4 years ago to qualify as a registered pet therapy dog, he began brightening lives at the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware. All five of the Piersons, Chase included, volunteer at Ronald McDonald House, and Joshua’s mother regularly stays at the House during Josh’s rechecks and regular procedures. Every other week Chase’s canine enthusiasm and good nature comfort children undergoing a variety of stressful treatments, many times easing their parents’ anxieties as well. The 2009 “Trust” card is second in a continuing series of Gloyd Group holiday greetings that focus on exceptional animals and people.
